Neodymium Cup Magnet Assemblies (also called “Pot Magnets”) are a high strength and low cost option for a huge variety of applications. The assemblies are usually produced with a magnet set into other non-magnetic material. They are made this way to channel and increase the magnetic force in a particular direction. Because these assemblies contain rare earth magnets, they are much stronger than a standard magnetic assembly which normally uses a ceramic magnet.
It is important to know that neodymium magnets are very hard and brittle and can break if they are dropped. Neodymium magnets can be assembled into products that use strong adhesives, but contact surfaces should all be clean and dry before bonding.
You should use caution when you are working with neodymium magnets. They have such a strong force and can attract to metal with such strength that fingers could become injured between them.
