Neodymium countersunk magnets are perfect for any application that requires the use of screw to hold the magnet in place. They are very commonly used with security alarms and as magnetic door latches on everything from barbecue grills to cabinet doors.
Neodymium countersunk magnets are very strong, but very sensitive to temperature and corrosion. To combat temperature we can help you to select the grade that is appropriate for the operating temperature that you may require. To combat corrosion, neodymium magnets are coated on the outside. Most commonly they will be coated with nickel-copper-nickel, but can also be coated with epoxy, gold and parylene.
It is important to know that neodymium magnets are very hard and brittle and can break if they are dropped. Neodymium magnets can be assembled into products that use strong adhesives, but contact surfaces should all be clean and dry before bonding.
You should use caution when you are working with neodymium magnets. They have such a strong force and can attract to metal with such strength that fingers could become injured between them.
